Game 3 went to extra innings. In the top of the 8th Jean Davingnon grounded out to move the runner to 3rd then Rick Thompson scored on a pass ball to take the lead 6-5. The bottom of the 8th started off with Jamie Blakely hit a single to score the runner from second to tie it up, then Derek Martin hit a walk off double to end the game.
